I am unapologetically raising my daughters with a strong conviction and bold faith that is based on love and righteousness in Jesus Christ. They ought not to walk in fear of God. Hope they do not come to a place where they believe that God is awaiting to punish them for every wrong behavior or act they commit. Instead, my hope that if they do walk in error that they are courageous enough to seek out their Loving Heavenly Father and walk in forgiveness and repentance.
It is the idea of being acutely aware of how we are feeling, the physical response we have, the emotional responses that begins within our thoughts, the particular feelings associated with those emotional thoughts, attached feelings and the engagement of behaviors that stem from those thoughts and feelings.
Living an authentic life is where a Christian lives true to his or her core values and beliefs. For the Christian, to live contrary to their core values and beliefs, is to live an inauthentic Christian lifestyle. Yes, it is a struggle when we take a look at the way social culture is going. However, we do not have to appear fake and pretend in order to be considered well-mannered.
These past few months have sent me into a state of reassessing my own values and goals. Focused on a new career path and working with individuals who are afflicted with substance use/addiction, there is much that has caused some liberation and consternation in where I am at.
