For me, I had to learn to be patient toward myself because I realized there was much healing needed to take place. Healing because I had not realized that much of the reason for being impulsive, compulsive, seeking approval of others was due to my self-invisibility and survival mode that had brought much dissatisfaction within my own life. My self-esteem was quite low.
Because grief may be powerful and overwhelming, many of us have attempted to avoid experiencing it. This may come when we experience a sense that our faith is lacking in God. However, our Savior understands the depths of our own sorrows. It is the cost of our love toward other people. And it is sadly unfortunate that our society today teaches that we need to get over the loss and move on. One simply does not get over or move on after a significant loss of someone they love.
We are our own self-critic and judge. Therefore, this week's writing challenge is to focus on delving into ways an individual may begin to exercise a daily discipline of self care where they show kindness and compassion. Break free from the inner critic that plagues our thoughts and creates barriers to personal and spiritual growth. By focusing on how one is able to show kindness toward self is key to how we operate out of a sense of worth and power.
We stand a little taller against the growing wave of immorality. We stand a little taller in the spirit of truth and light that is Jesus Christ. We stand with bold and resilient faith and courage to be the light by which those truly seeking refuge and sanctuary are able to come into the fold of God's kingdom. Each one of us, through our faith and commitment to the Gospel Principles established, are able to speak wisdom into those with broken hearts. We are called to serve and minister to those in need. Just as Christ served and ministered to the lowly and broken.
Consistent and effective mindful writing means we are dedicating ourselves to express our ideas, beliefs, values, and understanding to our audience. How we accomplish this depends on our level of motivation and commitment toward our love to write. Without consistency, we may continue to struggle with our ability to adequately express our thoughts. Writing quality and thought provoking content occurs when we take the time to follow through with our consistent efforts in writing daily.
It is arguably evident that SpaniardVIII makes it so evidently clear that they have absolutely no clue as to what they are attempting conclude.
Along with the rise in housing cost, the lack in affordable housing, there is also the increase in the lacking of gainful employment. Even in the City of Seattle, a person working full time (approximately 30 hours per week) at 15.00 per hour may not be able to afford the "necessities" earlier referenced. Additionally, factor in the cost of health care (including the Affordable Care Act), health premiums and insurance rates have dramatically increased.
This is the second weekly round up regarding some writing, and blogging, that I have done at my various websites. From daily devotions, entering into a first every short story contest, to working on two WIP's for publication, and even producing some apologetic articles on religion.
The solution in getting unstuck from our grief is attending meetings, seeing a counselor, and giving ourselves permission to let go. The willingness to allow ourselves to be vulnerable lessens our need to resist and lower those defenses. It is difficult in the beginning. And when we willingly allow ourselves to be vulnerable, keep ourselves in a community and fellowship of others, we begin to grow in trust with God, ourselves, and others around us.
Taking pride in who we are, our meaning and purpose, and how we reach out and serve others is healthy and contributes to our overall happiness. It also keeps us focused on what matters to us - what we value as most significant and important - while learning from our failings. Without appreciation for our accomplishments, we may find ourselves wallowing in self-pity, remorse, and struggling to overcome the shame and guilt of our failures.
True spiritual disciplines of a mindful Christian life focuses on the purpose of Godliness within our hearts, minds, soul, and body. It is the true foundation of an authentic Christian faith. One that is exemplified within the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. It is these spiritual disciplines that one seeks to attain salvation and exaltation. They are the rock upon which we build our faith on.
Developing the right type of attitude will determine whether or not the reader will understand the message. This fits within our clear understanding and purpose of writing. As writing is a passionate form of communication and expression. If our writing is vague, lacking any supportive evidence, or poorly constructed, then the attitude may come across as being lazy and slothful. If our writing comes across with strong language that is vitriolic we may risk causing our readers to be offended and even communicate defensively (think about some of the social media commentary going on regarding particular hot topic content). It is our disciplined goal to be objective, while remaining passionate, regarding particular subjects.
Often times I feel like I am not receiving what I desire from others because I am not willing to allow myself to be open enough to receiving. It's as if I have a little shop set up for people to come in and yet maintain locked doors.

As we see, the nature of sexual integrity and teaching of the law of chastity - especially among young people - is quite paramount to the foundation of Christian faith. It is not so much a teaching of oppressing someone. It is not a damaging mindset as the writer of ex-mormon blog insinuates. Neither is this based on fairy tales related to realizing a sense of authentic happiness. Sexual integrity and the teachings of the law of chastity has significant foundation in developing a resilient and healthy lifestyle. One that avoids giving into sexual temptation.
Focusing on the person that matters the most - ourselves - we free ourselves from the fears and doubts that inhibit our creativity.
Mindful writing also means we are to be objectively honest and aware of our weakness in grammar and punctuation. We must not assume that our audience is going to tolerate errors we may make in our writing. This includes grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, or other mechanics. How we write follows particular conventions and formats so that we are not producing shallow content that is filled with slang. It is not up to our audience to interpret what we are saying. It is up us as writers to communicate our own thoughts, emotions, expectations, values, and beliefs so that the audience has a full understanding of our message.
The best way one is able to begin expressing gratitude is by keeping a journal. Doing so allows an individual an opportune moment to not only write private expression of thankfulness that helps us recognize the blessings bestowed upon us. It is a treasure of reflection and meditation for us to turn to in times where we may forget what brings us comfort and joy. It highlights those good things we share in our lives with others.

Utilizing mindfulness as a writing technique requires discipline in the art of daily mindful and meditative practices. The easiest form of mindful meditation is simple breathing exercises. Since Mindfulness is becoming more aware of the present moment, as a writer, we are able to appreciate our own lives. Being mindful encourages us to manage thought and emotions. And, mindfulness is a way of being. A capacity for moment-to-moment awareness. Something we are empowered to implement and exercise on a daily basis.
